Sustainability is a term that is becoming increasingly important and is on everyone's lips. But for us, it's not about talking, it's about acting! Under the motto ‘Act Smart’, we began systematically integrating sustainability into our investment process back in 2017. Since then, we have been continuously optimising this process based on customer needs and have firmly anchored sustainability in our corporate culture.

Since 2017, we have pioneered the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into our investment solutions. This strategic focus enables us to create long-term value while having a positive impact on the environment and society. However, our commitment to ESG does not stop there: We are continuously committed to innovation and further development by constantly conducting research and exploring new approaches. In this way, we remain at the forefront of ESG integration and ensure that our investment solutions are always of the highest calibre.

What we mean by sustainability

Originally, the term comes from forestry and is to be understood in the sense of ‘only cut as much wood as can grow back’. This has changed in the 21st century and developed into a key term. It is difficult to find a precise definition on which there is general agreement. What is certain is that ‘sustainability’ comprises three dimensions: Environment, society and economy. Sustainable development therefore means more than ‘just’ environmental protection and there must be ecological, social and economic networking - a holistic approach.

Our ESG team consists of five experts, each from different areas of our company. They specialise in environmental, social and governance issues and are committed to integrating sustainability into all aspects of our business activities. OLZ's sustainability regulations and obligations

The ASIP aims to maintain and promote occupational pension provision based on social partnership and has therefore issued a binding charter and professional guidelines for its members. Implementation is intended to ensure that all loyalty and integrity provisions of the BVG are complied with.

The Alliance of Swiss Wealth Managers enables its members to regularly exchange experience and know-how on a regional and national level. In this way, prominent wealth managers seek to mutually strengthen each other through new and innovative ideas.

The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority is the independent supervisory authority for the Swiss financial market. OLZ AG has been authorised by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA as a manager of collective assets since 2007.

The officially recognised ombudsman for financial service providers in accordance with the FinSA and act as a neutral institute. FINOS deals with questions and complaints from clients of our affiliated financial service providers.

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) is an independent statutory body set up in 1989 to regulate Hong Kong's securities and futures markets. The subsidiary OLZ (Hong Kong) Limited is SFC licensed has the permits for Type 4 and Type 9 since 2019.

The «Personal Responsibility in Occupational Pension Provision» Foundation aims to develop holistic supports for the exercise of management in the 2nd pillar. OLZ is a co-founder of the "Personal Responsibility in Occupational Pension Plans" Foundation, which emerged from the «Code of Conduct for Occupational Pension Plans» Foundation.

The SFDR obliges providers of financial products to disclose the extent to which they take sustainability risks (or ESG criteria) into account - on the one hand in their company in general, and on the other hand specifically in their individual funds. In addition, the funds are divided into different sustainability categories.

The mission of Swiss Sustainable Finance (SSF) is to strengthen Switzerland's position as a leading voice and player in the field of sustainable finance, thereby contributing to a sustainable and prosperous economy.

The PRI is the world’s leading proponent of responsible investment. It works to understand the investment implications of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors; and to support its international network of investor signatories in incorporating these factors into their investment and ownership decisions.
